High Altitude Winery
The Poggio Antico winery in Brunello di Montalcino Italy is the Tuscany vineyard at one of the highest altitudes. The estate is two hundred hectares of cypress tree flanked drives, woodlands, olive groves and vineyards owned by Giancarlo and Nuccia Gloder and run by their daughter and son-in-law. The first wines were produced from the estate in the 1970s. The Brunello di Montalcino wine was the first Italian wine to receive the government's DOCG wine classification.

Plantings under Cultivation
The Poggio Antico winery in Brunello di Montalcino Italy consists of 80 acres total in cultivation. Thirty of these acres have 1970s vines that are being replaced by newer vines that are more concentrated. This will increase production by nearly one hundred percent. The production of the winery has changed from 75 to 80,000 bottles before 2001 to 90 to 95,000 bottles currently.

The Brunello di Montalcino Wineries are located at the Poggio Antico estate that dates to the 1800s. The earliest wines were made after a wine cellar was constructed on the estate in the 1970s. the owners love the corner of Tuscany and have consistently provided quality vintages that the world of wine lovers appreciate.
The grape varieties are mostly Sangiovese, with a few acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. The
